The field value is written to every record in an interaction.
Call ID is not a unique reference. Call IDs are recycled after a period that is long enough to ensure that no two calls with the same call ID are ever in progress at the same time. Since it is possible to see the same call ID on more than one call, this value, along with the value in Call Start Date/Time, will always uniquely identify a call as seen in the Call Reference Number data export field.
