Possible Values

Value	Description
none	No prepayment information was retrieved from the payment provider prior to making the payment and so the payment was made immediately in one request.
No	Payment details were submitted to the payment provider with an instruction to NOT go ahead with the payment so that, for example, payment card information could be retrieved to determine if a surcharge needed to be applied to the payment.
AuthOnly	Payment details were submitted to the payment provider with an instruction to go ahead with the payment after having previously withheld the instruction in order to acquire details (such as card information) from the provider.

There are two cases to consider; one where the Auth Type field is NOT populated, and the other, where it is.

Not Populated

The following data export report shows a payment call where a payment was authorised on the third attempt. The Auth Type is not populated because no prepayment information was retrieved from the payment provider prior to making the payment and so the payment was made immediately in one request.

Populated

The following data export shows a payment call with two attempts. In the first attempt (first row), although, the transaction was authorised, 'No' indicates that the payment provider was instructed to NOT take payment but to provide prepayment information to indicate if, for example, a surcharge needed to be applied to the payment. In the second attempt (second row), 'AuthOnly' indicates that the caller or service authorised the payment provider to take the payment (with a surcharge applied, for example).
