Configure a User's Services

A user inherits services from their assigned service type. For a user, you can:

When you set up a user, you are required to assign them a service type. The user inherits all the features of that service type. You can then made amendments at user level, so that the user has a different set of features from those on the service type assigned to them.

If you later make a change to the service type, if you select the Apply new setting to existing users with this Service Type? check box, the amended settings are applied to existing users, as well as future ones, when you click the Update Service Type button.

Note: in this circumstance, the system applies only those service type settings that have been amended to existing users; all their other settings remain unaffected.

If you apply a different service type to a user, their existing settings are overwritten with those of the new service type.
