Record

Records a call after a tone.

You can use this invite callers to leave a message. The recording is available in storm RECORDER.

Properties

Recording Duration

Select the number of seconds for which the call is to be recorded unless stopped by a termination key or a silence timeout (see below for these properties).

Silence Timeout

Select the number of seconds of silence after which recording will stop.

Minimum Recording Duration

Select the minimum recording duration. No file is created if the recording is terminated before this duration is reached.

Output File Name

Enter a string variable to store the name of the recording as assigned by the system. This can then be played back to the caller using the Play Recording action cell.

Create Separate Recording

Select this if the script contains multiple instances of this action cell and you want each cell to generate its own recording file rather than have a single file of appended recordings.

Introduction Prompt

Select this if you want to play a prompt to the caller before recording begins.

Use the Select Media List option to select the media list containing the audio files to use for the audio prompt. Then, either use the Select... options lists to select the files or use the Use Dynamic... options to use local string variables containing the name of the file.

Alternatively, use the Use Dynamic Media List option to use a local string variable containing the name of the media list and then use a local string variable containing the name of the file in the media list.

Stop recording on keypress

Select this to force the caller to press a key to stop recording.

Ensure that the audio file in Introduction Prompt mentions the termination key.

If no key is defined, recording continues until the Recording Duration is reached.
