Getting Started

You can log in to STUDIO in the following ways:

Log in with your RSA Key

Two-factor authentication

Note: if you are configured to use single sign-on, you are logged in to STUDIO automatically when you navigate to the STUDIO URL.

Log in With Your RSA Key

  1. Navigate to the URL for the application in your region:

Region

URL

United Kingdom

https://www.timeforstorm.com/stormstudio

https://www.stormesp.com/stormstudio (Emergency Services Platform customers only)

United States

https://www.stormportal.us/stormstudio

Europe

https://www.timeforstorm.eu/stormstudio

Japan

https://www.connectstorm.jp/stormstudio

Tip: if you always log in to the same organisation, you can edit the URL to include the organisation name, then bookmark it. The Organisation field is not then required when you log in subsequently, using the bookmarked URL. The format of the edited URL is:

https://<regional URL>/org=y<our organisation name>

For example:

https://www.timeforstorm.com/stormstudio/org=Monumental

  1. Your system can be configured to allow you to select the language in which you wish to work while in the Log In screen. A drop-down is displayed at the top-right of the screen that allows you to select the language from those configured on your system.

If you use single sign-on, the language you will use is configured for you.

  1. Enter your username, organisation name and password. The password is your PIN plus the series of digits on your RSA SecurID hardware or software token.

Note: if you enter the wrong password five times in one day you will be locked out of STUDIO and you will be unable to log in until 15 minutes have passed.

  1. If your organisation has sub-organisations, use the screen that appears to select the sub-organisation you want to log in to. (If the list is long, enter the first characters of the sub-organisation's name into the field provided to limit the list to sub-organisations whose name begins with those characters.)

  1. Click Continue. The system displays the STUDIO main screen from where you can access all storm products and applications. (Available functions vary across organisations.)

Task instructions in this document refer to this screen. For example, Service Configuration > Templates & Profiles > Percentage Split means:

Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA), sometimes referred to as two-step verification or dual-factor authentication, is a security process in which users provide two different authentication factors to verify themselves. This process is done to better protect both the user's credentials and the resources the user can access. Two-factor authentication provides a higher level of assurance than authentication methods that depend on single-factor authentication (SFA), in which the user provides only one factor - typically, a password.

storm supports 2FA by SMS or by email - Content Guru defines which channel is to be used at user level. In either case, you will receive a message containing a six-digit security code to use to complete your login to STUDIO. An example message might say: Your security code is 123456. It expires in 10 minutes.

Note: your security code and the expiry time will vary; this is just an example.

You have one attempt to enter the code. If you do not enter the code correctly, you are returned to the login screen where you must start again. Once you have successfully entered your username, organisation name, and password, you will be sent a new code.

If you do not receive a code, return to the login screen by navigating to the URL in step 1 and complete the login fields again. Should two messages arrive, always use the most recent verification code.

Note: if you do not recognise the email address or the last four-digits of the telephone number displayed in the dialog box, or, if after several attempts to log in you have not received a six-digit code, contact your administrator.

  1. Enter your username, organisation name and password. When using 2FA, you will use a password, not a PIN + RSA token code. Click Login.

  1. You will see a dialog box showing either the full email address or the last four digits of the telephone number the message was sent to. Type the six-digit code from the message into the Verification Code field, then click Log in.
  2. When the code you submitted matches the code sent in the message, you are logged in and can, if required, select a sub-organisation.
  3. If the code you enter does not match the expected code, or if you do not enter the six-digit code before it expires, you are taken back to the login screen and where you must enter your username, organisation name and password again.

Log in to a Child Organisation

Functionality is provided to allow users set up on a parent organisation to log in to a child organisation and assume the storm identity of a specific user set up on the child organisation. This is intended to allow you, as an experienced administrator, to access a child organisation in order to perform system configuration. To use this functionality, you must be an Admin user who has been assigned a rights profile that includes the STUDIO right Impersonate Users.

Log in to the parent organisation on storm in the usual way via STUDIO. (2FA and RSA key log-in are both supported.) In the screen that appears, click the  button to list the sub-organisations

Click the sub-organisation you wish to log in to.

Use the drop-down list that appears to select the user whose profile you wish to assume and click Continue. The system logs you in to the selected organisation with the user rights assigned to the selected user. (The user rights assigned to you within the parent organisation do not apply in the child organisation. The only exception is that you will always be able to access the System Admin > Organisation View menu option, to allow you to log back in to the parent organisation again when you have finished work in the child organisation.)

If the selected user is already logged in, they are automatically logged out; and, if they log back in, you are logged out. Any actions you carry out whilst logged in as that user are recorded against that user in the system audit logs.

Pop-up Messages

Administrators can receive messages from Content Guru in storm STUDIO. These messages will appear once you have logged into STUDIO.

Click Acknowledge to indicate you have read the message. This message will not be displayed to you again.

Click Cancel or click outside the message box to temporarily dismiss the message. This message will be displayed to you again the next time you log in to STUDIO.

If there is another message to be displayed, it will be displayed now.
