Global variables are used in FLOW to store items of data that are defined at organisation level, such as disaster recovery flags, rates for currency conversion, or information on pricing or service levels. They are useful for creating FLOW scripts that dynamically adapt service routing across multiple scripts, for example a dial-in line activation or de-activation service.
Global variables are defined centrally in STUDIO, and updating the value of a global variable affects all FLOW scripts referencing that variable.
Note: once you have created a variable, you can only change the value.
Note: Content Guru recommend that you use the same naming conventions for global variables as for local variables, described in the FLOW User Guide. The same size limitations apply to global variables as to system variables, described in the FLOW User Guide. Given that the name identifies the purpose of the global variable to the FLOW script developers who will use it and to the storm administrators who will amend its value, Content Guru recommend that you provide meaningful names.
The new value comes into immediate use.

The deletion fails if the global variable is currently being used by one or more FLOW scripts.
