Configure Voicemail

This section is about configuring voicemail at the storm access point/route plan level.

Note: voicemail at the individual user, department, and queue levels are configured as described in the UC and CONTACT Configuration Guide.

You can:

Creating a Voicemail Profile

  1. From the STUDIO main screen, select Service Configuration > Templates & Profiles > Voicemail Profiles.

A screen appears.

  1. Click the New Profile button.
  1. Name the profile, provide a description, and then configure the mailbox settings. For the meanings of the settings on the screen, refer to the on-screen field descriptions and the notes in the table below.

Mailbox Security

Either select the check box to disable PIN security, or enter the PIN into the fields provided.

Mailbox Introduction Settings

The default greeting prompt is set up at organisation-level using UC/CONTACT.

Notification Settings

Defines how voicemail is notified. To send a notification when voicemail is received, select the Email Notification check box and enter an email address. To include the voicemail message as a WMA file attachment, select the Email Attachments check box as well.

Maximum Messages

When this value is reached, subsequent callers will hear a message saying that voicemail is currently unavailable.
  1. Click Save. The profile is now available for selection in call route plans.

Routing Failed Onward Route and SIP Trunk Calls to Voicemail

  1. From the STUDIO main screen, select Inbound > Route Plans.

  1. From the Onward Route or SIP Trunk tab, select the route plan for which to forward failed calls to voicemail (the route plan may be a primary or disaster recovery route plan).

  1. Select the Voicemail check box and then select the voicemail profile:

  1. Click Save. The setting applies to all access points using the route plan.

Tip: voicemail can be toggled on/off for a primary route plan on the Configure Access Points screen. Click the  toggle button in the Voicemail? column.  indicates that voicemail is switched on:

Routing Calls Directly to a Voicemail Deposit Service

Follow the instructions in Configure main routing on an access point, selecting 'Voicemail' for the Route Type, and 'Deposit' for the Voicemail Type. You must also select a voicemail profile:

Routing Calls Directly to a Voicemail Retrieval Service

Follow the instructions in Configure main routing on an access point, selecting 'Voicemail' for the Route Type, and 'Retrieval' for the Voicemail Type. You must also select a voicemail profile.
